Yellowbird Foodshed Weekly Food Box Policy

Our Weekly Food Box program offers an opportunity to celebrate and value the delicious, local food produced by sustainable farms within our region. We want to make the process as simple as possible so you have more time to brag about the local deliciousness found in your Weekly Food Box share. Please read the following so you understand how it works. We work hard to provide a Weekly Food Box program that offers convenience and is worry-free for our community.

You will have the opportunity to select the most convenient pick-up location so it is important to find a way to get your box during the stated time frame. If you cannot get to the pickup location on time we suggest sending a friend or family member in your place, which is a great way to introduce others to fresh and local produce! We cannot guarantee that veggie boxes, add-ons, and store orders will be available outside of the pickup window so you will not be reimbursed for missing your pick-up or for missing items outside of your locations stated time frame. Add-ons are packaged separately from veggie boxes. The location of your store order will be indicated on on your main veggie box label in red. If you are having trouble locating your items during your locations stated time frame please email erin@yellowbirdfs.comIf emails are sent about missing items after your locations allotted pick-up time you will not be reimbursed for those items.

If you know you need to skip a box in advance you can schedule a “hold” no later than 5 days before your scheduled delivery day.  If you place a hold, we will not pack your share that week and you will not be charged for that box. If you need to skip the week entirely make sure to hold each of your subscriptions separately. If you do not place your hold at least 5 days before your scheduled delivery you will still be charged for that box, but can donate your share by emailing You can place a maximum of 3 weeks on hold for the veggie box for the Winter session which runs bi-weekly from November 29th-May 10th. If you need to place more than 3 weeks of veggie boxes on hold during this time your card will still be charged, and your share will be donated instead.

If you need to change your subscription or pick-up location you will make adjustments to your account when confirming your order each week. There will be no manual adjustments.

If you need to cancel your subscription you will need to submit your cancellation request to no later than 5 days before your scheduled distribution.

Credit/Debit Payment: Each week your card will be charged prior to receiving your box. If your payment declines, we will reach out to you to update your payment. If payment is not updated within 48 hours your share will automatically be placed on hold. If your share is automatically placed on hold that will count toward 1 of your 3 holds for the season. Your share will remain on hold until you contact that you have updated your payment.

Check Payment: If you choose to pay in full by check we must receive payment within 10 days of your sign-up.

***For home delivery: Each week you will receive a reusable tote and ice packs that need to be set out the night before your delivery. If your share is on hold temporarily you do not need to place the tote outside during your hold and you can wait until your box resumes. If you do not return all of your totes by the end of the season, or return them in damaged condition you will be subject to a charge of $30.00 per missing/damaged tote. If you cancel before the end of the Winter session you are responsible to return your tote to either Great Scot on Broadstreet (Findlay), Swainway Urban Farms (Columbus), or The Farm on Kenyon road (Mount Vernon).
